I am so sick of being sick. x_x I need to stop being so scared but... With the swine flu going around, and how it can so easily kill a person, I can't help being scared. Shannon was well and suddenly got really ill and died. I read her entries, and how she felt. I probably sound so selfish, but I really am scared of the same thing happening to me.

My temperature must be through the roof right now. And I can't sleep at all. If I close my eyes, I get insanely dizzy.

I dont' know what to do. I just want to be well. I guess all this food is making me worse. I've yet to vomit, but even that could be soon.

I just want to be better. I wish there was a way for this to just go away and for me to be well again. I'm so scared.

I know you told me that everyone feels like they're gonna die when they're ill, but what if it really happens? I should stop saying this stuff, but I can't help it. I don't want every night to be like this... Me being terrified. I'm burning up. uagh

Maybe try taking a cool shower or bath to take your temperature down, honey?

You should really see a doctor, Ebi. 8c

is 36.7 Celsius a bad thing to have for a fever? it says that's 98.06 Fahrenheit.

That's hardly anything actually. A few degrees above normal but nothing to really fret about.

Excuse the journal~

"In the United States annually between five per cent and 20 per cent of the population becomes ill from the flu and 36,000 people die —a mortality rate of between 0.24 per cent and 0.96 per cent, reports have claimed.

The current mortality rate for swine flu is between 0.06 per cent and 0.24 per cent, the Los Angeles Times has reported - making it less lethal than the yearly bout of influenza."

Swine flu is no more dangerous than the common flu. People are just making a huge bloody fuss over sod all. Yes, the number of cases are growing, but the only adult deaths caused by swine flu so far have been in Mexico.

Chill. You probably just ate something that set off your gut again.

I want to believe you're right, but it's just with shannon dying, it scares me really bad. she was only 18. sure, she was a little hobbit of a person, but she was really healthy and suddenly plummeted into illness. I keep trying to calm myself but i just keep thinking of shannon i can't help it

They've already said that they don't know what happened with Shannon. If it were H1N1 it would've been diagnosed easily enough. It's a pandemic. It would have been the first thing they looked for.

It really doesn't! Honestly, the media blew it WAY out of proportion for their (and doctors') own gain.

It's not nearly as dangerous as it sounds, trust me. Very much like a normal flu. Just as the normal flu is one of the greatest killers of children and, well, anybody too poor to get any sort of treatment or enough rest, same with swine flu. The only difference is there's no safe vaccine.

In any case, the vaccine is probably more dangerous than the flu!

Take it from someone who has never once had a flu injection and quite frankly thinks most Americans (the ones who don't actually need it) are gigantic wusses for not dealing with the flu every year and wasting their time on injections, silly people.

Don't freak out. Calm down! If you can handle a normal flu, you'll handle swine flu. The only real difference might be achy bones and muscles. Of course, like the regular flu, it can get dangerous, but in that case, just go to the hospital. ^^;

Get lots of rest and drink plenty of liquids although I didn't do enough of that at the start because I'm pesky and felt like swallowing the water was too gross and only forced myself to down some for pills. ^^;;;, you should also probably get off the computer! Rest as much as you can, even if it's very little. I managed without missing a day of school and almost never getting to just lie around. ♥

In any case, hugs because you definitely need them. -hugs- Being sick is never all that fun!

And replace "injection" with "silly nasal spray" because apparantly most cushy Americans also don't have to deal with needles for their annual vaccines, unlike us.

And more hugs.
